Hamamatsu Photonics has developed three new types of the "H10330" series thermoelectrically cooled NIR PMT modules that feature high sensitivity, high speed, and compact size achieved by vacuum insulation technology. We will start selling these new modules on October 2nd this year, mainly for laser radar (LIDAR) applications. These modules allow mounting LIDAR in flying airplanes and other craft to make environmental and meteorological measurements in the NIR (near infrared) region referred to as "eye-safe" because it is highly safe for human eyes. These modules are also ideal for singlet oxygen monitors in applications that detect very-low near infrared light such as evaluating materials for optical communications, or unraveling the mechanism of aging, etc.
