Hamamatsu Photonics Applies for Permission to Establish Incorporated School and Graduate School Institution With Aim of Opening Graduate School for the Creation of New Photonics Industries

Hamamatsu Photonics is working to open a Graduate School for the Creation of New Photonics Industries, motivated by a commitment to using opto-technology to create new fields of industry, and applied on June 25 for permission to establish an incorporated school and graduate school institution. As a preliminary move, the company established the Foundation for the Preparation to Establish a Graduate School for the Creation of New Photonics Industries on March 1, and is planning to obtain approval by the end of November. In parallel with the approval process, Hamamatsu Photonics also began making preparations last summer to recruit students, and is planning to open the Graduate School for the Creation of New Photonics Industries in April 2005.
