System products such as the PHEMOS series and THEMOS series, that analyze failures inside semiconductor devices, are now in wide use in the semiconductor field. With these products firmly established, we are turning our focus now from failure analysis to failure control, in order to meet the anticipated needs of the next generation. Imaging technology is playing an important role in the biomedical field as well as in other fields. For instance, this technology is hard at work in networks linking hospitals, that are used to transmit pathology images and other data, as well as in genetic diagnosis, drug screening, and many other applications that involve image data with a high level of accuracy and precision.
