Opto-semiconductor products are being used in more and more applications, from academic research to industrial fields, and offer increasingly high performance. In order to supply the products needed at the optimum time, our Solid State Division defines its research and development program in close alignment with the current market. Our customers are looking for more compact element and unit products with a higher level of integration, that can be easily matched to the application at hand. To meet those needs, we conduct fundamental research and development on properties and other aspects, and then put the results to work in combination with electronics, optical technology, micromachining technology, and other peripheral technology to come up with new and innovative solutions to market needs.
