With photo-sensitive electron tubes, we strive constantly to improve the
basic performance of the product, by
boosting sensitivity, reducing noise,
and expanding the range of
detectable wavelengths. At the same
time, we are always looking for new
and useful ways in which the product
can be utilized. In recent years, by
combining electron tube technology
and semiconductor technology and
by bringing crystal photocathodes into practical use, we are finding potential
new markets for product development to meet needs. Light sources are widely
used in many fields, among them semiconductor manufacturing, factory
automation, information industries, and environmental applications, and we
are constantly working to develop new products with higher performance levels.
Our deuterium lamps employ a special construction that gives them a
longer lifetime than any other type, while our μfocus x-ray light source for
non-destructive testing is highly acclaimed for its sharp, enlarged fluoroscopic
images. Our UV spotlight sources, used in the bonding of optical components,
are likewise highly rated. These and other Hamamatsu products have
been quick to find their niche in today's market because they meet specific
needs.
